  16. This is a great tool for creating soft borders, for use on web or print
  17. (or whatever you want).

  19. It needs ImageFX. Tested successfully with version 1.52.
  20. Please report bugs/problems, or if you know how to improve it.

  51. You also need the assign ImageFX: for your ImageFX-path.

  55. usage
  56. -----
  57. Start ImageFX and load/create an image.
  58. Select the Arexx button in ImageFX.
  59. In the filerequester, select the softborder.ifx file and OK.
  60. If everything went right, a GUI pops up.
  61. There are lots of options, but you probably won't need to care about
  62. so many of them to get a decent result.
  63. Play with it and you will get it, or read on.
  64. Here follows an explanation of the GUI:

  66. smoothness:
  67. How soft the border will be.
  68.  
  69. border size:
  70. Thickness of border with gradient.
  71.  
  72. shade:
  73. How dark the shadow will be.
  74. Or how yellow, if you selected yellow as shadowcolor.

  76. border increase:
  77. Thickness of border without gradient.
  78.  
  79. magic scissors:
  80. If you check this, the most usual color (in the original image)
  81. will be removed.
  82. It will be replaced with white, or your selected bordercolor.

  84. background from swap:
  85. Uses the swap buffer as a borderpattern.
  86. If there is no swap, it uses the main buffer.

  88. pick color for backg.:
  89. If you check this and select the Okay button, the script will
  90. stop and wait for you to pick a color, either from the image
  91. or from the palette.
  92. The color of the border will be the one you selected.
  93. If you check both this and the "background from swap" options,
  94. then this won't have any effect.

  98. But they will reset on reboot.

  100. You can change the defaults if you open the script in a
  101. texteditor, and find the note I left for you.
